A Misty White Mountains Wedding at the Omni Mount Washington Resort | Allison & Jesse

There are some wedding days that feel like they were made for the White Mountains.

Yesterday was one of them.

Allison and Jesse celebrated their wedding at the Omni Mount Washington Resort in Bretton Woods, New Hampshire, surrounded by just 20 of their closest family and friends. It was intimate, beautiful, and completely their own.

And while the forecast brought clouds and a little mist, nobody was afraid of a little rain.

After all, they say rain on your wedding day is good luck. 🤍

And honestly, I couldn’t have asked for better conditions for photographing the White Mountains.

The mountains disappeared into the mist at times, the air felt soft and moody, and the fall foliage was absolutely incredible. The White Mountains are at that magical point in the season where the trees are putting on a show, and the views surrounding the Omni Mount Washington Resort were breathtaking.

An intimate Omni Mount Washington wedding

There is something really special about a wedding with only the people who matter most.

With just 20 guests, Allison and Jesse’s wedding felt incredibly personal. There was plenty of time to slow down, enjoy each other, and actually take in the day instead of feeling like everything was rushing past.

The Omni Mount Washington Resort is an incredible setting for a White Mountains wedding, with its historic architecture, mountain views, and variety of wedding spaces. The resort offers both indoor and outdoor settings, including the Jewell Terrace, South Veranda, Presidential Garden, and several elegant indoor spaces.

For a couple looking for a New Hampshire mountain wedding with a classic resort atmosphere, it is hard to imagine a more recognizable backdrop.

Fall in the White Mountains

And then there were the colors.

Peak fall foliage paired with the misty mountains gave everything this beautiful, almost dreamlike feeling.

One of my favorite things about photographing weddings in the White Mountains is that the landscape doesn’t need much help. Even on a cloudy day, there is so much atmosphere and depth in the mountains, trees, and changing weather.

And I actually love when a wedding day doesn’t have perfect blue skies.

Clouds can create beautiful, soft light. Mist can make the mountains feel even more dramatic. And a little rain gives you an excuse to get close, pull out an umbrella, or simply embrace whatever the day decides to give you.

Allison and Jesse were willing to do exactly that.

And then there were the tiniest guests

There were only two children at the wedding, two adorable little girls who spent part of the day running around and enjoying the celebration in their own way.

At one point, I caught them sitting together at the bar and I couldn’t help but think they looked like the tiny, modern day versions of Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman in Practical Magic.

The cutest little witches you ever did see. 😂

Those are the moments I love catching at weddings.

Not everything has to be perfectly posed or planned. Sometimes it’s the little things happening in the background that end up becoming some of your favorite photographs.

Wedding photography at the Omni Mount Washington Resort

The Omni Mount Washington Resort is one of the most recognizable wedding venues in the White Mountains, and for good reason. Couples can celebrate with sweeping mountain views, elegant indoor spaces, outdoor terraces and gardens, and the incredible landscape of Bretton Woods surrounding them.

The White Mountains are home to a wide variety of wedding venues, from grand historic hotels and resorts to mountaintop ceremonies and intimate outdoor celebrations.

For couples planning a White Mountains wedding, Bretton Woods wedding, or Omni Mount Washington wedding, the scenery becomes more than just a backdrop. It becomes part of the story.

And yesterday, the mountains, the mist, the fall foliage, and the people Allison and Jesse chose to surround themselves with made their day pretty unforgettable.

These are just a few of my favorites from their day.

Congratulations, Allison and Jesse. 🤍

Thank you for letting me be there to document such an intimate and beautiful celebration. I can’t wait for you to see the rest.
